Public museums and memorial halls across the country will be open to the public for free, according to a notice issued by relevant ministries. Although Guangdong is not one of the seven provinces that are listed for trial run, Su Guifen, Guangdong Cultural Relics Bureau Director-General said that the province has been playing an active role in preparing for the free-opening. The key concern is whether there is sufficient financial support for the move.
