S: Welcome to cultural express, your guide to cultural events in town. I am your host Stephan. Fion, Michelle told me about the traditional Lantern Festival last week. I find that it's very interesting and romantic holiday. F: Really? So I am sure you learned about the traditional celebrations too.
S: Sure. Like eating "Yuanxiao", for example, which is a kind of sweet round dumpling. But most special of all is visiting the lantern shows. F: Have you ever been to any of these shows?
S: Not yet, but I've done a bit of research. In Guangzhou, many brightly colored lanterns are on display in many venues to help spice up the atmosphere, especially in places like Baiyun Mountain, Yuexiu Park and Cultural Park. F: Remember to bring your cameras.
S: Right, very important to take photos. February is all about love. And since both the western Valentine's Day and the Chinese Valentine's Day are celebrated, it's the perfect time do something warm and romantic. F: In addition to hanging out in parks, what else do you recommend?
S: Well, how about spending some sweet moments listening to familiar love songs in a cozy concert hall? A concert called "The Sweet time - Melodies from Famous Love Movies" will be on stage at Xinghai Concert Hall on March 2nd. This show will take you into a world of cinematic love songs from China as well as abroad. F: I believe "Tian Mi Mi" from "Hong Kong Love Affairs" and "Moon River" in Breakfast at Tiffany's are lot of people's favorite.
