Premier Continues Inspection In Quake-Hit Guangyuan, SW China
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived at Guangyuan City in southwest China's Sichuan Province early this morning.  Wen went to Qingchuan County, one of the worst-hit areas of Guangyuan City, by train to oversee rescue work and visit survivors. He returned to Chengdu yesterday afternoon after flying to the epicenter of Yingxiu in Wenchuan County by helicopter.

Strong Aftershock Jolts Yingxiu Town in Wenchuan Again
According to Xinhua News Agency early this morning, a strong aftershock jolted Yingxiu Town in the epicenter of Wenchuan County again. Rocks rolled down hills and some dilapidated houses which, damaged by Monday's devastating earthquake, collapsed completely.

China Sends 101 More Helicopters To Quake-Hit Area For Relief Work
China's Defense Ministry said early this morning that it has ordered the deployment of 101 more helicopters to the quake-hit Sichuan province. The General Staff of the People's Liberation Army has ordered the airborne troops of the Army and Air Force to send 71 more transport helicopters to help the quake relief work. The civil aviation department will also send 30 transport helicopters to the area. These helicopters will engage in airdropping materials, transferring the wounded and delivering troops, said the spokesman.

Banking Regulators: No Remittance Fee For Disaster Relief Donors
China's banking regulators yesterday ordered all banks to open a "green channel" for disaster relief donations from home and abroad and to scrap remittance charges. The China Banking Regulatory Commission said in a statement posted on its website that all lenders should simplify the remittance procedure and make sure every penny of all donations are distributed securely.

Convenient UK Visa Application for Visitors
A lucky Guangzhou resident was awarded with a free trip to London yesterday (May 14) at the Guanzghou Visa Application Center. The Consul General of Great Britain delivered a speech saying that the UK is improving its visa application process to make it as convenient as possible for customers. The British government has launched a new United Kingdom Border Agency and substantially lowered prices to provide better service for visa applications.
