No Mass Health Problems in Quake Zone, Ministry Says A Ministry of Health spokesman said yesterday (Jun 2) that there have been no major epidemics or public health incidents in the quake-hit areas of southwestern Sichuan Province. The ministry and the provincial government have been open with all reports concerning epidemics in the quake zone. The spokesman said that burial of earthquake victims has been "scientifically handled" and would not contaminate water sources. Most medical workers at the relief front now are physicians and skin disease experts. The ministry has also sent more than 200 psychologists and medical workers to carry out counseling in Sichuan.

China Issues Legal Guide for Foreigners During Olympics China yesterday (Jun 2) released a legal guide for foreigners covering a wide range of issues such as entry and exit information, tourism and accommodation. The guide says those who are suspected of terrorism, violence or subversive activities will not be allowed to enter China. Smugglers, drug traffickers, prostitutes and those with "mental diseases" or certain contagious diseases, and those who are likely to carry out activities harming China's state security and interests are banned from entering the country. Donations from Guangdong Province Reach 3.84 Billion Donations from Guangdong province reached 3.84 billion yuan in cash or materials for the quake-hit area¡¯s relief work. Of the donations, 896 million yuan in cash or materials has reached the bank accounts of charity foundations or government departments. Guangdong will also help the disaster-hit areas in Sichuan build 90,000 mobile houses for victims. As of yesterday afternoon (Jun 2), 9000 of the mobile homes had been delivered to the quake-hit area, 2000 of which have been built.
Leisure Tour Groups from Mainland to Travel to Taiwan in July Leisure tour groups from the Chinese mainland will travel to Taiwan as early as July. According to tourism agencies in Guangdong province, applications for Taiwan travel tours are booming, with most of the applicants being senior citizens above 60 years of age. Five travel agencies in Guangdong plan to travel to Taiwan later this month on a trial run.
