Guangzhou Expands CBD Domain
Guangzhou's Central Business District (CBD) will expand from Zhujiang New City to the nearby region of Yuancun and the Pazhou area across the Pearl River. Our journalist Lin Shuhua has more:

Director of the Guangzhou Urban Planning Bureau research center Lu Chuanting introduced the details of the new strategy:
"Yuancun will be developed into a complementary area for the financial business of Zhujiang New City, mainly as the headquarters of multinational companies. Pazhou continues as the focal point for exhibitions, including Canton Fair, already the biggest in the world"

Lu added that factories in Yuancuan will be relocated to make way for the new development. The Bureau is inviting planning proposals from home and abroad, which should consider the renovation of villages in the city, protection of its proud heritage and the utilization of remaining industrial resources.
