Safety Education Implemented in Schools

Nowadays, most students have finished their end-term examinations and are waiting for the upcoming summer vacation. In order to ensure student safety this summer, schools have invited experts to strengthen student awareness of transportation, fire and flooding. The director of the Dongfengxi Road Preliminary school said:

"We will invite experienced policeman to give lessons, as well as have all students participate in safety education, including fire, scamming, Internet safety, swimming safety and so on."

First Endoscopy Exam Center set up in Guangzhou

The nation's first endoscopy technology examination center was set up in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical College recently. Endoscopy involves minimally-invasive surgeries and is very effective in diagnosing diseases, requiring doctors to follow complex procedures.

Electronic Nautical Chart to be Installed in High Speed Vessels

According to the international rules of sailing, starting tomorrow electronic nautical charts are to be installed in high speed vessels. Maritime Safety authorities from Guangdong province, Hong Kong and Macao have jointly prepared the chart to the mouth of the Zhujiang River for clients.

Six Additional Methadone Treatment Centers to be Opened

730 drug addicts are being treated at three Methadone treatment centers located in Liwan, Yuexiu and Panyu Districts respectively. Of all the 956 drug addicts that have been or are being treated in these centers, over 50% of them have been treated, released and employed. Officials said that another six Methadone treatment centers will be opened in Haizhu, Tianhe and other districts in the second half of 2008. Along with these, Guangzhou's treatment centers will cover all districts and cities at the county level in Guangzhou.

Chaonan Technology Industrial Park Construction Started

The first phase of construction of the Chaonan technology industrial park in Shantou started today(Jun 30). The Chaonan industrial park is one of the most important projects of the Industrial Transfer of Shenzhen. The newly built industrial park will focus on digital electronic and IC products.
