Guangdong-Hong Kong to Ink Cooperation
The 3-day 2008 Business Fair for Guangdong-Hong Kong Economic, Technology and Trade Cooperation will kick off in Hong Kong tomorrow (July 3). A Guangdong delegation led by Vice Governor Wan Qingliang will head for Hong Kong today. Guangdong will promote 150 key cooperation projects, involving infrastructure, IT, tourism and outsourcing services.
Thai PM Visits Guangdong
Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej arrived in Guangzhou last night (July 1), the second stop of the leaders' four-day official visit to China, at the invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao. During the 2-day trip here, the 45-member Thai delegation will visit fruit wholesale markets, meat and vegetable markets and folk art museums.

New Cars Must Use National 3 Emission Standard
Beginning from July 1st, new vehicles registered in Guangdong must qualify for the National 3 emission standard, which is equal to European 3 standards. Cars with less than 6 seats are required to be equipped with On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) to keep emissions within safety limits. The new policy aims to reduce car emissions for the good of environment.
Name List for First Tour to Taiwan Decided
Organisers have finalised the name list for Guangdong's first travel tour to Taiwan, and submit it for approval of the authority. The tourist group, consisting of 106 people, will set out from Guangzhou on July 4th. The Shenzhen organizer has set the price at 10,888 yuan for each traveler.
