Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua Meets With Thai PM
Yesterday (July 2) Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua met with Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej. Huang said, for the first five months of this year, import and export trade between Guangdong and Thailand reached 5.2 billion US Dollars, a growth of nearly 28% and a steady increase since 2006. Samak said, he visited Guangdong 22 years ago and that "Guangdong did not disappoint him", emphasizing that great changes have taken place in terms of cuisine, airport development and the cleaning up of the city's appearance.


GZ Government Welcomes Citizen Representatives
The Guangzhou Municipal Government yesterday welcomed visitors from a delegation comprised of 30 citizen representatives. The launch of the "open door" day is meant to promote mutual understanding between administrations and citizens. Our reporter Li Lian has more.
Guangzhou Mayor Zhang Guangning invited the citizens to visit his office. One citizen mentioned the issue of traffic.
"The time for the visit by the city's Public Security Emergency Response Center 110 was cut short due to traffic congestion."
Zhang said:
"To reduce congestion, public transportation should be developed, including an increase in the number of bus routes and metro lines. Currently the public transport development theme is under discussion and collecting public opinions."
Another "open door" day for visits to other governmental departments will be launched in September.

Price of Power for Residential Use Will Not Go Up
