Exclusive Path to Be Opened to Facilitate Cross-Straits Weekend Chartered Flight
The first cross-straits weekend chartered flight will begin operation at 6:30 tomorrow morning at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. An exclusive path will be opened at the airport's frontier exit and entry inspection station for the chartered flight.

Domestic Travel Cost to Rise Affected by the Fuel Surcharge Rise
Affected by the increase in fuel surcharges for domestic flights which took effect on July 1st, prices for domestic travel during summer vacations will increase by a minimum of 10%, according to some major travel agencies in Guangdong. However, costs for traveling to quake-hit Sichuan Province will drop by 10% on average.

Taxi Reservation Likely to be Charged
Due to a new standard launched by the Guangzhou Communications Commission, passengers who telephone for a taxi are now likely to be charged more. The taxi reservation fee will range from two to five yuan.

State Council: China's grain output to reach 540 billion kgs by 2020
After hearing how farmers face tremendous challenges in increasing output, China's Cabinet on Wednesday approved a plan to ensure the country would be 95 percent self-sufficient in grain production over the next 12 years. The State Council agreed at an executive meeting on a plan to ensure that grain output exceeds 500 billion kilograms until 2010, and reaches 540 billion kg by 2020.

Students in quake-hit areas attend college entrance exam
A total of 120,000 students in China's quake-hit areas started their three-day national college entrance exam this morning, which was delayed for about a month after the May 12 earthquake.
