Conference on Post Olympic Economy
A news conference regarding the Chinese economic development forecast during the post Beijing Olympics period was held yesterday in Beijing. Experts from various governmental departments including the National Development and Reform Commission discussed future projection on the stock market and the real estate. Facing the worries that are considered incentives for strong economic growth will diminish when the Olympic Games concludes, Deputy head with the macro economic research institute from the National Development and Reform Commission provided a soothing response.
"The fundamental elements supporting the fast growth boosting Chinese economic development have not changed. The proportion of Olympic-related infrastructure investment accounts for small part of the national total. China's fast economic growth tendency will not change."
Wang also said the adjustment in stock market performance has no direct link with the Olympic Games.
Traffic Police offer Fines for Jay Walkers
Starting yesterday foreigners who cross the road without following the traffic regulations who get caught will be fined. The move was co-initiated by Guangzhou traffic policemen and Guangzhou Exit and Entry Administration. Three road sections, including Xiaobei crossing, Xiatang crossing and Xiaobeijiaochang crossing, are the focuses of the supervision.
