PRD Established to be a Modern Industrial Center
A working conference was held yesterday (August 18th) by the provincial Party committee and Guangdong provincial government. Wang Yang, secretary of Guangdong CPC Committee, and Guangdong Governor Huang Huahua attended the conference. Wang Yang stressed on enhancing the industries' international competitiveness. The Pearl River Delta as a whole will be built into a modern service industry demonstration area, the main force for the provincial to develop the modern industry.

Nuri Expected in Three Days
The Pearl River Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarter predicted today(Aug 19th), the 12th tropical storm of this year ¨C Nuri has gathered momentum and formed into a Typhoon at 2am this morning. Experts pointed out, it is expected that Nuri will begin to influence coastal areas in western Guangdong and the Pearl River mouth this Friday(Aug 22nd). Precautions were made across the province to make prevention work.
