China's Olympic Delegation Holds Strong
China won against Belarus yesterday (Aug 19th) and advanced to the semifinals of the Olympic women's basketball tournament for its first time for 16 years since 1992 Olympic Games.
Defending champion China beat 2004 runner-up Russia 3-0 (25-22, 27-25, 25-19) to advance into the semifinals of the Olympic women's volleyball tournament here on Tuesday. China will take on Brazil in the semifinals while Cuba meets the winner of the United States-Italy game.

Second Round of Double Transfer Begins
Guangdong is expected to continue the industrial transfer zone selection after the first round was launched on August 5th by means of competitive bidding, with debate for the fiscal support. The move is an effort to accelerate Guangdong's strategy of double transfer, whereby transferring labor-intensive industry from the Pearl River Delta to less developed regions in the province. It is expected that 15 such zones across Guangdong by the end of 2009.
Nuri is Expected to Hit Guangdong
The12th tropical storm of this year - Nuri, the strongest typhoon so far, is expected to hit Guangdong and bring large amounts of rainfalls on Friday and Saturday.
