Nuri Expected to Land On Along the Yangjiang and Shanwei Cities
The 12th typhoon of this year-Nuri, the strongest so far, is very likely to hit landfall and affect the mouth of the Pearl River along the Yangjiang and Shanwei cities at noon till midnight. The typhoon will bring heavy rainfalls. Guangdong marine department issued an ocean wave red alert for the first time this year. Guangzhou today will be cloudy and overcast with rainstorm expected. Lowest temperature for today will be 26 degrees.

The Chinese delegation today (Aug 22nd) secured a goal medal for the women's table tennis singles as the defending Olympic Champion Zhang Yining won against Li Jiawei from Singapore. Zhang will compete against her teammate Wang Nan in the final to be held at 20:30 tonight
Super Computer Center to Be Completed in 2010
Nanfang Daily reports, Guangzhou is gathering pace to introduce a series of investment projects worth of over 100 million yuan each into the city. One of the projects will feature a super computer center to be launched in Guangzhou, the third largest across the country. It is expected that the project will be completed in 2010.
