New Tour for Consul General
Yesterday (Aug.25th) a group of foreign consulate officers from 29 Consul Generals in Guangzhou had a tour around Guangzhou, the first leg of their Guangdong tour. The consulate officers visited Guangzhou Metro, Guangzhou Science City, Nansha Port and the Asia-Pacific hub Fedex. Many of the consulates said, Guangdong still maintains its attraction for foreign investments. Many foreign enterprises have strong faith in investing in Guangdong. The tour was initiated by Guangdong Government Foreign Affairs Office. The Guangdong tour continues until Thursday (Aug.28th), the other legs of the tour include Dongguan, Shenzhen and Huizhou.

Public Transport Sees New Subsidy
Guangzhou is expected to establish a subsidy mechanism for public transport, a move meant to tackle the rising costs brought by the large margin of increase in the gas and oil prices. Guangzhou authority yesterday passed a series of the city's public transport sector, which also features an effort to accelerate reform in financing for the sector.
Yunnan Tengchong to Attract Guangdong Tourists
Yunnan Tengchong, known as the communications center Silk Road in ancient times, yesterday launched a publicity campaign in Guangzhou to attract more tourists. It is expected that the direct flight between the two regions will open by the end of this year.
Guangzhou History Museum to Be Established
Guangzhou is expected to have a large museum that fully showcases the city's history. The new address of Guangzhou museum is likely to be made in Chigang Pagoda section.
