Foreign Consulates in Favor of Guangzhou
According to the foreign affairs office of Guangzhou, the number of foreign consulates in Guangzhou has been increasing rapidly recent years. There are 33 foreign consulates in Guangzhou so far, and the number is expected to reach to 40 within the year. Countries including Peru, Israel, Chile, Yemen and Spain are planning to establish their consulates in Guangzhou.
Baiyun Airport Seeing Foreign Athletes off
The Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is experiencing a departure peak of the foreign Olympic delegations starting yesterday (August 25th). Since July 11th when the first athletes for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games arrived at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, the airport has witnessed over 4,000 flights and over 510 thousand entries & exits by overseas sports delegations, leaders of foreign countries and IOC officials.

Guangzhou Plans to Build Fire Fighting Stations in the Asian Games City
It is learned from the Guangzhou Firefighting Brigade that Guangzhou would plan and construct the firefighting stations in Asian Games City in accordance with the criteria for first-grade State fire fighting stations. Some special security functions would be added to ensure the successful holding of the 16th Asian Games in 2010.

Body of New TV Tower to Be Completed
The body of the new 454-meter-high TV tower which has been under construction for two years is to be completed on Thursday (August 28th).
The completion of the body of the new TV tower will be a marked symbol of Guangzhou. Experts said that construction of the TV tower had been disturbed by typhoon Nuri that recently swept through Guangdong Province. However, they said that the construction had been held up for at most one day and would be completed on time if the workers worked harder.
