Remarkable People for the China's Reform and Opening Up
Yesterday 50 candidates and 50 stories were voted for to compete for awards for remarkable people and events during the 30 years of China's Reform and Opening Up. The result will be announced at the end of October. The organizers of the awards are Guangdong Government Publicity Office and Southern Media Corporation. This event is part of China's thirty-year anniversary of opening up.

Guangzhou Mayor Inspects Transportation Development
Guangzhou Mayor Zhang Guangning made an inspection tour yesterday (Aug 26th) on the city's Baiyun airport expansion project. He also examined the preparation work prior to the operation of the Asia-Pacific Hub for Fedex. Zhang urged the airport expansion to gather pace and be put into use by the first half of 2010, for the upcoming Guangzhou Asian Games.
