Lighting Ceremony of Beijing Paralympics Torch relay to Be Held

The lighting ceremony of the Beijing Paralympics torch relay will take place at the Temple of Heaven at 10:30 a.m., this morning(Aug 28th) in Beijing.

 

More Buses Connected to Communities and Metro Stations in Guangzhou

According to the Guangzhou Municipal Transportation Committee, bus and van services have been extended into all residential communities. 110 more bus stops and 329 more bus lines have been set up connecting to nearby metro stations. Evening bus routes have increased to 48, covering most of the areas of the city.

 

Expenses Last Month Hit New High

According to the Statistics Bureau of Guangzhou Municipality, the gross industrial output value for enterprises above a designated scale amounted to RMB 91.51 billion in July, up by 13.3% from last July. Total retail sales of consumer goods hit a new high due to summer spending, reaching 26.4 billion RMB, up by 26.1%.

 

Olympic Venues to Open to Public

According to an official report, beginning Oct. 1st, Beijing's Olympic venues will open to tourists during the week-long National Day holiday. Venues, such as the "Bird's Nest" National Stadium and the "Water Cube" National Aquatics Center, will be open to the public as they appeared during the Games.
