Profit Growth of China's Industrial Sector up 19.4% in First 8 Months
According to the latest figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics, China's major industrial enterprises, each of over 5 million Yuan (735.000 USD) in sales, earned 1.87 trillion Yuan in combined profits in the first eight months of this year. The figure was 19.4 percent higher than over the same period last year.
Jumeirah to Join List of Luxury Hotels in GZ's New CBD
A Dubai-based luxury hotel company has scheduled to open in 2011 a seven-star luxury Jumeirah Hotel in Guangzhou. The hotel will be located in Guangzhou's Zhujiang New Town CBD. Four Burj Al Arab hotel apartments will be built nearby, connected to the hotel by an "air corridor". So far there are five top international luxury hotels that have opened in Zhujiang New Town and it is expected that in the coming two to three years, Zhujiang New Town will become a concentrated location for world famous hotel brands.
Guzhen to Light up with Trade Fair
The upcoming 7th China (Guzhen) International Lighting Fair will be held in the town of Guzhen, Zhongshan, Guangdong province, from the 18th to 21st of October. The fair has received a major upgrade with a special hall built especially for big brands. The top brands in 18 categories of lighting products will be displayed in a special 2,800 sq m hall. According to the organizers, this year's lighting fair covers over 65,000 sq m, compared with 40,000 sq m last year.
The Ticket Selling of the National Holiday
The ticketing center of Guangzhou's Baiyun International Airport announced that ticket supplies for some domestic flights are running very low due to the up-coming National day holiday.That is especially true for outbound flights to Beijing, Lanzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Nanjing, Sanya and Guilin. Flights for some of those destinations have even been sold out for departures before the 1st of October. Good news all the same for those heading to Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming and Xi'an, Dalian, Shenyang, Hefei or Haikou : Discount air tickets are still available and should be available from October 1st to 4th.
4 Points Drops Before the National Holiday Today is the last day of trading before the October holidays. The benchmark Shanghai Composite index closed at 2,293 points, down 4 points. The Shenzhen Component Index added 2.47 percent to 7,559.
