Traditional Chongyang Festival Celebrated Today

Today (October 7th) is the traditional Chongyang Festival, in which Chinese people will traditionally go climbing in the mountains to drink chrysanthemum wine. Last night, Guangzhou¡¯s Baiyun Mountain received large numbers of climbers, who believed that hiking higher in the mountains assured promotions or a higher position in society. Ms. Zhang was having fun with her friends by playing cards on the mountain top. She said:

"we will stay here to see the sunrise. I wish for all a safe and healthy life.

Ms. Deng, however, hopes the downward trend on the stock market will turn around."

"I came and hope my luck will improve from it."

Affected by the rainy weather, the number of visitors to the mountain has dropped by half compared to last year. 

Non-criminal Record Not Required for Canton Fair

Attendants to the China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, will no longer need to provide a clean criminal record. In the last session, these records were required in a step to strengthen security control in the venue. This autumn fair, scheduled to open on October 15th , will be completely held at the Guangzhou Pazhou International Convention and Exhibition Center for the first time.

Shenzhen House Prices Plunge Below 10,000 yuan/m2

Shenzhen's real estate prices fell below 10,000 Yuan per square meter, for the first time in the past year and a half. Statistics during the Shenzhen autumn property trade fair that has just ended showed that between September 29th and October 3rd, the number of daily transactions hit a record low of merely 63 houses.
