Olympics High-tech Products Displayed at High-tech Fair
High technology products used during the Beijing Olympics are being displayed at the ongoing High-tech Fair in Shenzhen, which opened on Saturday (October 11). Our Journalist Lai Lingling has more details:
At large international events like the Olympics, simultaneous interpretation system is indispensable. A Shenzhen company developed a new system for the Beijing Olympics, which can do simultaneous interpretation in 64 languages. The company's vice general manager Wu Chendong explains:
"Previously simultaneous interpretation systems were analog, but this is digital. It's strong in anti-jamming and users don't hear any noise when wearing headphones."
Another company promoting their finger print lock has aroused much interest amongst visitors. The company's marketing manager Xiao Xijun boasted its advantages:
"it's safe and convenient. You never need to carry keys."

Chinese farmers' income to double
The nation has set a goal of doubling per capita disposable income of rural residents by 2020 from the 2008 level. The target was set at the end of the 3rd Plenary Session of the 17th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, which focused on rural reform and development. A communique issued at the plenum's conclusion yesterday (October 12) said that the government will substantially boost rural residents' consumption and eliminate absolute poverty in rural areas by 2020.
CPI Growth Slow Down Guangdong's consumer price index (CPI) grew by 4.3% in September. The growth rate is 0.5% lower than that in August, indicating a trend in continuous drops. In the first 9 months of the year, Guangdong's CPI has increased by 6.7% in total.
