Guangzhou Metro Gears up for Canton Fair

All 3 entrances and exits at the Guangzhou metro's Pazhou Station will be put into use for the first time during the Canton Fair opening tomorrow (October 15). To cope with the large number of passengers, Guangzhou Metro has brought the train frequency down to 3 minutes. In addition, more trains will be running on the route passing Pazhou station, especially during rush hours.

Tour Price to Taiwan Drop below 4000

Travel packages to Taiwan have dropped substantially from over 10,000 Yuan to below 4000 Yuan within 3 months. Guangdong China Travel Service is promoting a 4-day tour of Taiwan Island at a record low price 3,999 Yuan.  Under an agreement signed on June the 13th, between the mainland-based "Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits' and 'the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation", mainland tourists were permitted to visit Taiwan via weekend charter flights starting last July.

Europe Mounts Massive Rescue Bid

In Paris yesterday, Germany, Britain and France announced a massive financial rescues plan as governments across Europe stepped in, to shield banks and restore confidence amidst the worst financial crisis in nearly 80 years. Although governments are preparing for a long period of economic weakness, they hope the measures announced Monday will help restore confidence in the financial system.
