Yesterday was the second day of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, China topped the medal list with 8 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze. Following behind was the United States and Great Britain.
China's Yao Juan claimed her second Paralympic gold when she won the women's F42-46 javelin with a world record throw, this is also the first gold for Chinese team in the Games. Lin Haiyan, 45, grabbed the first gold in shooting for China with a victory in the women's SH1 10-meter air pistol. Wang Xiaofu of China won the gold medal in the S8 final of Men's 100m Freestyle.

The triple jumper Osamah Alshanqiti won the first gold medal in the Olympic history of Saudi Arabia with a world record-breaking jump. Valerie Grand Maison of Canada set a new world record in the Women's 400m Freestyle S13 to win the gold medal at the National Aquatics Center. Anna Eames of the United States won Women's 100m Butterfly S10 gold medal. Swedish shooting great Jonas Jacobsson collected his 14th Paralympic gold medal yesterday.
Entering the third day of the Games, 61 gold medals are expected in track and field and swimming.
